What is Jayden? I mean it is.. Like the most basic of names. To be frank I don’t think there was or is a lot of thought behind naming a child Jayden and it’s almost preposterous to think on average how many people you’ve probably interacted with that have my name. Maybe it’s like if you meet one you meet them all or I hope not since I think sharing personalities and mindsets exactly to a T would be kinda creepy like some sick twisted thriller(that sounds like a great idea for a book). Perhaps in this sea of mediocrity there’s a form of connection you could have with someone that has your same name(maybe I don’t know). I think that striving for individuality all the time can be difficult since we are social creatures and were made to interact with one another.
On my small quest for “name asylum” I had asked the all great and wise sages about my name(my parents). I was going into this maybe expecting a decently lengthy or interesting backstory similar to my brother Aaron who was named after the main character in the short film “The Little drummer boy” which displays his vigorous independence. But it was only to my dismay that it was nothing as much as just a throwaway google search (like yup Jayden sounds pretty good i guess lets roll with it). I’m not implying that it isn’t a bad idea to you know execute but it kinda makes this less interesting in this case. But i will say that having a considered name in the past be Christopher is a sign that i was luckily spared in a sense. This translation of origin from my name i was super hyped for a cool story to tell but i got absolutely nothing to work with (;_;). really can be seen in the definitions of my name which is just “thankful”. I am very thankful but there’s a lot more to me than just being thankful if that makes sense( i know it does). While I may seem very butthurt about this topic there’s almost no other name I could even think about. Probably due to how i’ve kind of gotten used to it kinda like your imprinted with a name and that’s what you roll with.(I’m not sure Elon musk’s baby will be able to put up with his barcode of a name to be honest…)
Although I did find how weird it was that there were so many people in Nevada that had the name Jayden because… WHO lives in Nevada? I personally don’t believe they even exist. Anyways name rants aside i think that while my name doesn’t shape me i’m creating my own definition for my name. Which includes making the greatest dad jokes before I’m forty and trying not to go insane.
